  • 250g Korean glass noodles (dangmyeon,당면)
  • 6 Eggs (We loves egg!)
  • 1/2 Onion
  • 1/2 Cucumber (or 2 cups Baby spinach)
  • 1 Carrot
  • 10 Chestnut/ Shiitake mushroom


  Sauce and seasoning

  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Sesame oil
  • 1 t-sp Roasted sesame
  • 1/2 t-sp Black pepper
  • 1 tb-sp Minced garlic

  1. Rinsed, peeled & julienned the carrot, cucmber and onion
  2. Remove stems and thinly sliced the mushroom
  3. Heat upa pan with 1 table spoon of oil, pan-fry a thin layer (0.5cm-1cm) omelette
  4. Thinly sliced the egg into finger size
  5. Boil the noodles for about 8 minutes until they are soft and elastic
  6. Rinse with cold water, then put aside with a tablespoon of sesame oil
  7. Heat up a saucepan/ wok with tablespoon of oil and garlic
  8. Stir-in the onion (slightly golden) and add the carrot, cucumber and mushroom
  9. Pour-in the black-pepper, soy sauce and sesame oil, keep stiring for another 30 seconds
  10. Add the glass noodles ad eggs in and mixed them well
  11. Finished the dish by sprinkling some roasted sesame on top

  1. It is not necessary to soak the noodles (as the noodles cook up pretty fast without being soaked), but remeber to rinse the noodles in cold water, drain well
  2. For those who are lazy, youmay consider the Japchae sauce from Asian Supermarket
