 Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion
  • ¾ lb thinly sliced beef (340g/ 12oz)
  • 3 cups cooked Japanese short-grain rice

  Sauce and seasoning

  • 2 t-sp sugar
  • 2 tb-sp sake
  • 2 tb-sp mirin
  • 1 tb-sp soy sauce

  1. Slice the onions 
  2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat and cook the onions until tender
  3. Add the meat and sugar and cook until no longer pink
  4. Reduce the heat, add the sauce mixture and simmer for 2-3 minutes
  5. Place your beautiful beef and egg on top of steamed rice
